Dispatch
The problem
Drivers worked from printed manifests and photographed deliveries on personal phones. Dispatch learned about failed drops at end of day, and disputes depended on finding the right photo in a camera roll.
The approach
- Ride-alongs on two routes established that connectivity drops for minutes at a time, so the app was designed offline-first from the first wireframe.
- Proof of delivery captures photo, signature, timestamp and location in one screen, queued locally and synced in the background.
- Dispatch sees a live board with exceptions first; everything on schedule stays quiet.
- A native background-location module keeps battery use under five percent per shift.
What ships
Every stop recorded with evidence in the moment, exceptions visible to dispatch within minutes, and a driver app that works in a loading dock with no signal.
